Paula A. Furrow

A native of Franklin County, Paula has approximately twenty years experience in real estate.  Paula has  a diverse background in real estate, ranging from banking to owning her own real estate settlement company, and is our firm's chief real estate closer.  Paula is well known at the lake for her courteous, friendly demeanor and her "do whatever it takes to get it done" attitude.

Kim Rusgrove

Originating from New Jersey, Kim has called Franklin County her home for the past twenty-three years.  Receiving her paralegal degree from Dominion Business College in Roanoke, Virginia, Kim has worked for our office for the past five years.  Her present duties include post-closing real estate files, office administration and administration of corporate files and minutebooks for our corporate clients.

Kathy Clinton

Kathy moved to Smith Mountain Lake from New York City.  Kathy worked for a New York law firm for approximately 14 years, and has experience in all phases of real estate, from preparing real estate contracts to handling real estate closings.  Kathy is an assistant to Paul Furrow and her main job duties include obtaining payoffs, dealing with banks, gathering data for closings and customer service.

Dixie Dusenberry

Moving to Smith Mountain Lake from up-state New York, Dixie calls "John Deere Country" (Davenport, Iowa) her real home.  Dixie and her husband live in Bedford County where they enjoy watching the Virginia Dare come and go.  Dixie and her husband enjoy being able to boat on SML "without having to break the ice first". A full time employee of Main Street Title, LLC (see title insurance page), Dixie's duties include underwriting title insurance for our closings. 

Gail  Dickerson

Gail was born and raised in Augusta County, the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.  Before moving to the lake, Gail was a litigation assistant for nearly twenty years for a partner in one of the largest law firms in Harrisonburg.  Gail's present duties include assisting Mr. Gilbert with litigation files and matters involving wills and estate administration. Gail enjoys yard work and spending time with family and friends.

 

Carolyn Angel

Carolyn moved to Franklin County in 1991 and worked in mortgage financing for five years before joining our firm.  Carolyn's customer service experience with a local bank has certainly carried over to her present position as an assistant to Paula Furrow. Carolyn's main job duties include initial client contact with real estate buyers, keeping contact with real estate agents, and gathering "the details" for our closings.  Many people have been impressed when Carolyn really did  "get right back to them".  In her free time, Carolyn enjoys reading, cross-stitching and playing Canasta with her daughter.
