The Gilbert Law Firm, PC, is a general practice firm which concentrates in matters involving real estate, wills and estates, small business/ corporate matters and general civil litigation. We have no typical client. Our clients range from local businesses to charitable organizations and from long-time residents to out of town newcomers. We have provided legal services to police officers, firefighters, FBI and CIA agents, Doctors and Dentists, Judges, CEO's, local business owners, first-time home buyers, and even a best-selling author. 

Opening for business in the Spring of 1997 in  Rocky Mount, Virginia, our office quickly expanded six months later by opening a branch office near Westlake Corner at Smith Mountain Lake. Due to the overwhelming need for legal services at Westlake Corner, and to better serve our Smith Mountain Lake clients, our office merged its two locations with the staff of an independent settlement company into one location in 2001.  In March 2003, our office moved to its present location at 13595 Booker T. Washington Highway (commonly known as the old Lewis-Gale Medical Building). From Westlake's only stoplight, we are two buildings up on the left as you proceed towards the bridge along Route 122.

As much of our practice involves the closing of real estate transactions (purchases and refinances), our staff is made up of individuals having a large amount of experience in real estate closings.  Combined, our staff has been involved in well over 5,000 real estate settlements. Our goal is to provide you with friendly, courteous service so that your real estate buying and/or selling experience is smooth and comfortable.
